God is searching for you—and won’t give up until you’ve been found.
That’s the central message at the heart of this four-week series. Just like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, we sometimes run away from God. We hide behind our excuses and our sins. We create distance in that relationship.
Yet God doesn’t give up. God passionately pursues us, seeking a restored and whole relationship with us.

I Used To Rule The World
Before Jesus was born, people could try to claim some sort of ownership of the world. But with His life, death and resurrection, the rules changed - Jesus powerfully showed God’s plan for humanity. As believers, it’s up to us to adjust to His rules to live a Christ-like life.
Join us and uncover the meanings behind some of Jesus’ most powerful metaphors as we model our lives after the true Ruler of the world.

Happy
Guess what? Life as a follower of Christ isn’t designed to be dull, boring, or sad. In fact, Jesus wants you to be happy! But God’s definition of happiness is quite different from the way our culture interprets and promotes. God doesn’t want us to focus our energy and efforts on pursuing happiness that is defined by our feelings and emotions. Instead, we can seek happiness that is experienced as we follow God’s plan—and as we’re fueled by God’s power.
In this series, we will pursue God-style happiness through the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:

Power of a Changed Life
St. Augustine. Martin Luther. Mother Teresa. Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Paul the Apostle. History and the scriptures are filled with stories of how one life, changed for Christ, can have an impact that lasts for decades, if not centuries. In the midst of these stories is a revolution of the heart—from one of self-gratification to one that lives and thrives in service to God. In Power Of A Changed Life, we will outline how this incredible transformation begins and explores how you can take action on God’s calling.
This series will help you understand how to respond to Jesus, as well as how to love and serve Him—and others.

EXPERIENCING GOD: Impact Baptist Church will be going through the Experiencing God Bible Study beginning on April 13, 2011 on Wednesday Nights @ 6:30 PM. We will have a limited amount of member books available. They can also be purchased at most local bookstores.
Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God is the classic, best-selling, 13 week study written by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby, and Claude King. Through examination of biblical and contemporary illustrations, participants will understand and apply seven realities of experiencing God. Churches will be helped to better function as the body of Christ, as members understand how to experience God as a church.
Separate classes are being taught for adults, youth and preteens.
Experiencing God: Youth Edition is adapted from the best-selling adult study, students learn to hear God. The video, "The Xperience" is a 9 week drama designed for students in grades 7-12 in a study of "Experiencing God, Youth Edition." As teens watch the story unfold in this drama, they will discover parallels between the video and the priciples in Experiencing God.
Experiencing God - Preteen Edition helps preteens focus on the biblical concepts related to knowing God and following His will for their lives. This 9-session Bible study for kids in grades 5 and 6 helps preteens gain an understanding of how they can know and do God's will throughout their life experiences.

REFUEL: Running on empty—it’s more than a classic song from the ’70s. It’s the way many Christians describe their spiritual lives. We have our spiritual checklists. We gauge our spiritual growth by all the things we do and accomplish and pursue. We think we’re growing because we’re busier than ever.
Yet deep down inside, we feel empty and tired and dry. Somewhere along the way, we bought into the lie that Christianity is more about “doing” than “being.” But you and I don’t have to live life on empty.
This three-week series is about a new kind of spiritual experience—one rooted in building an up-close, spiritual, and intimate relationship with God.
Something we can STOP and something we can START—not with the goal of creating a longer checklist of spiritual obligations but helping us refocus on what’s truly important to refueling spiritually.

HE DID WHAT?: Incredible. Unbelievable. Extraordinary. Inconceivable. None of these words describe the work of Jesus quite like the word “miraculous”. He Did What? will take us through four of the most instructive miracles in Jesus’ ministry — and the lasting impact those lessons still have for today.

THE END: One of these days, life will come to an end. We struggle in grasping the notion of death as we are young - full of energy and a sense of invincibility - and as we age the thought is still out there. The truth of what happens after we die.
Is there an afterlife? If we go to heaven, will we be playing harps and floating around on clouds? If we go to hell, will we be sitting around on rocks in the middle of fiery pools? What does the Bible say about these places?
In this two-week sermon series, we will unpack the biblical truths about heaven and hell. We get one shot at life, and we face a vital question that will determine our destination after death: Will we choose to receive the gift of forgiveness and eternal life that’s available through Jesus? If we say yes, we’ll spend eternity in heaven in God’s presence. If we say no, we’ll spend eternity separated from God. It’s that simple and that crucial.

This series is about helping you recognize and deal with the most painful experiences in life. And most importantly, you’ll see how God can take your pain and use it to make beauty.
